System: Thief archive · Power

Almost anything can be taken.

Brief contact can trigger theft. Deliberate contact gives intention greater control. At its deepest expression, the gift can reach the structures beneath a life.

Theft rules · Depth of contact

Precision requires time.

Power acquired once can change again when the same thing is stolen twice. Every gain therefore creates a second question: what is worth touching when the target can touch back?

Touch

Brief contact

A quick touch can trigger theft without giving Kairo exact control over what is taken.

Focus

Chosen theft

More deliberate contact gives intention a greater role in the target of the theft.

The deeper expression of the gift can reach stats, abilities, passives, lifespan, and other advantages rooted in the target.

Duplicates merge

Taking a skill Kairo already carries is not always waste. Duplicate abilities can merge or upgrade what is already there.

The origin and absolute limits of the gift remain matters for the story to reveal, not assumptions for the archive to invent.

Earned thresholds · New tools

Progress opens options, not safety.

The System’s milestones turn survival into a growing economy of choices.

Level 05

Dimensional Storage

Unlocked for collecting and carrying what the wilderness would otherwise force Kairo to abandon.

Level 10

Crafting

Self-sufficiency widens. Stolen power is no longer the only way to turn raw material into advantage.

Level 30

Thief’s Network

The shop opens. Its currency is earned through theft and scaled by the difficulty of the target rather than by ordinary coin.

Difficulty economy

A small, low-risk theft may be worth one point. A dangerous high mage can be worth far more. A dragon sits at the distant end of the known example scale—roughly one thousand points. The System rewards danger because danger makes theft meaningful.

A power becomes a life through repetition.
