The ruins were not the ending.

The city Yoldus and his companions saved did not merely return to what it had been. Rebuilding made it greater, and the new name—Beacon—turned survival into a promise visible beyond its walls.

After the battle

A city is saved twice: first from destruction, then from abandonment.

The companions defeated the evil that threatened the city. What followed was slower and less glorious: clearing ruin, restoring order, giving survivors a reason to remain, and building beyond what had been lost.

Beacon became the center of Yoldus’s mortal influence. People followed not because he seized a crown, but because they had seen him remain after the danger that draws songs had passed.

The first company

Yoldus did not save the city alone.

The original companions remain part of the foundation. They can later visit the Astralith, and Yoldus continues returning to the universe and lives that existed before his Watcher’s office.

Company

Shared victory

The evil was defeated by companions whose full names and histories remain to be entered into the public archive.

City

Shared rebuilding

Beacon belongs to the people who made a life among the ruins, not to one hero’s legend alone.

Continuity

Shared access

The old companions may visit the Astralith, preserving friendship across the impossible change in Yoldus’s station.
